I’m always on the lookout for a great location around the Fox Cities to take family photos. Heesakker Park in Little Chute is super close to where I live, but I had never been there before! I was missing out! This large park is on the Fox River and has a bunch of walking trails, both paved and through the woods, a bridge, and connects to Island Park.
I grew up “going up north” to my grandparents’ cottage and then to my own parents’ cottage. I love being outdoors, so photography has meshed so well! I could tell Joe, Brooke, and Addison also enjoyed being outside. While snapping the Newtons, we had to watch out to make sure the deer, squirrels, and rabbits didn’t get in the frame! We had the perfect day in July without bugs or humidity. Sometimes, just thinking about family photos in summer makes me sweat. Family photo sessions are held in the evening when the heat of the day has subsided a bit, so it’s much more enjoyable.
My favorite moments from the Newton session were Addison’s expressions. She made some great faces that I know she will look back on one day and laugh. Kiddos are just themselves during sessions. They are authentic and if they want to make a silly face, they do! I love it. Joe, Brooke, and Addison were such good sports through my prompts. There were lots of snuggles, tickles, a “Lion King” moment, and just time together as a family. I hope they cherish these photos as much as I loved taking them!
If you are looking for a good spot for family photos in the Fox Cities, I highly suggest Heesakker Park!
