The Kralik family joined me on a beautiful summer night at the Bruce B. Purdy Nature Preserve in Appleton, WI for some family photos. We had a wicked storm the day before this that left many people without power. It made for some interesting photos with trees down and lots of grass bent on the trail. The Kralik family decided to take a nature hike for their family photos and it was the perfect activity to keep the girls entertained. We stopped for photos along the way and chased the girls around. It was fun to watch them explore!
I had a lot of favorite moments from this session. I loved the way the girls ran carefree through the trails. I could tell they really enjoyed being outside. Mom picked flowers for the girls and even picked some raspberries from bushes growing along the trail. The bugs weren’t bad (thankfully!) and even though it was hot, it was still the perfect night for pictures. The girls collected things as we walked, like rocks and leaves. Nadia told me she was going to keep them by their couch. 🙂 Towards the end of the session, Nadia and Kati sang their best Paw Patrol rendition and it was so cute!
What I loved most about this session was capturing the Kraliks as they did something that was familiar to their family. While some pictures were more guided and directed, most of them were captured as the family enjoyed time being together.
Pictures are so important because you can never get those moments back. At this stage of life, our kids are growing so quickly. Without family photos to look back on, it’s hard to remember the little details.
I hope they always remember how their girls collected rocks and leaves, how they ran through the trails, and the “Ugga Muggas” with mom and dad.
